Navigation Tools

Navigation Tools used by the NMDB primarily fall into one of two groups: ground software or onboard software. The ground software is used either for orbit determination or orbit determination analysis. The primary tools in this area are GTDS and ODEAS, both developed in-house by the NMDB. COTS packages are also used including ODTK and FreeFlyer Mission. The onboard software has almost all been incorporated into a single modular system called GEONS. This software includes capabilities of past tools including GEODE, TONS, GONS, and CelNav. Other systems include the MagNav software.
