Flight Dynamics Web Tool

Web Tool Features

The Flight Dynamics Web Tool is a web-enabled orbital analysis tool that is under continuing enhancement for the NMDB. The tool currently provides an online capability for performing fundamental orbital analysis tasks as listed in the image above.  The tool allows individuals to perform some simple orbital calculations in advance of contacting FDAB engineers.

*Note:  New updates have been made to the NMDB Web tool.  Additional plug-ins are now necessary to be installed to take advantage of the new attitude features.  Due to continuing enhancements to the FreeFlyer® Plug-ins it is necessary to first un-install the NMDB Web Tool (this does not include the Cortona Plug-in) before re-installing.

To operate the web tool, spacecraft parameters and orbit coordinates are entered and a 3D visualization of the orbital path is displayed. After visually confirming the orbit path, the user may select an analysis to be performed, enter the required parameters, and submit a job for processing. Following completion of the analysis job, results are returned to the user as an email attachment or displayed real-time in the appropriate FreeFlyer® plug-in.
